Welcome to the Educational Services Department of the Oakley Union School District.  Our district is committed to supporting the educational achievement of every student.  We are constantly working on aligning our curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment program to ensure student success.  Our district curriculum is standards-based in each of the content areas.  The mission of our department is to provide support to our schools and staffs in curriculum development and instructional strategies through research-based, relevant and on-going professional development.  Our goal is to create a community of life-long learners within our staff, students and community.

4th & 5th Grade Family Life Parent Meeting

OUESD will be providing Comprehensive Sex Education (aka Family Life) to 4th and 5th grade students on April 27, 2023. Both grade levels will receive age-appropriate instruction that follows the California Health Framework. Fourth-grade students will be taught in single-sex settings. Fifth-grade students may be taught in co-ed settings.  Your school’s grade level teachers will work with one another to teach the curriculum to students.

We invite all 4th and 5th grade parents/guardians to learn more about the curriculum, to preview the videos and materials during a Parent Information Meeting.

7th Grade Family Life Parent Meeting

OUESD offers a unit of study on sexual health for 7th grade. This unit uses up-to-date and medically accurate information to address many of the health issues students may face in their lifetime. Our School District highly recommends that all 7th graders participate in the course, but understands that values regarding this topic vary among families. The sexual health unit will be taught during science class beginning the week of May 8 through June 2, 2023. We also invite you to learn more about the curriculum and to preview the materials during a Parent Information Meeting:

April 24, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
Library at Delta Vista Middle School.

Families from Delta Vista and O’Hara Park are invited to attend this meeting. Teachers and administrators will be on hand to answer any questions.
