The COVID-19 outbreak began in December 2019.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and other public health agencies are monitoring this disease. Contra Costa Health Services is working closely with its partners to track the situation locally, and continues to provide information, as it becomes available, to local medical providers, emergency services, and school districts.
OUESD is partnering closely with the Contra Costa Health Services, County Office of Education, as well as other local and state agencies to monitor new developments with the illness, and to ensure that the District is following the most up-to-date guidelines set forth for schools and individuals in order to help prevent and slow the spread of the disease.
