The OUESD Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month* at the Library at O’Hara Park Middle School located at 1100 O’Hara Avenue.  Board Meetings usually begin at 6:00 p.m. but please call the District Office at 625-0700 to confirm.  Study Sessions are held on the first Wednesday of the month at the District Office located at 91 Mercedes Lane.

The Board of Trustees encourages input from all members of the Oakley Union Elementary School District Community.  The Board of Trustees meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to comment under the Public Comment section.  Comment cards are available near the sign in sheet at every meeting.

Individuals who require special accommodation (American Sign Language interpreter, reader, assistive listening device, note taker, taped text, Braille or large print materials, accessible seating, etc.) should contact the Superintendent’s office at least five (5) business days prior to the meeting at 925-625-0700.

*This schedule can change if the third Wednesday of the month falls on a Holiday or during a school break.

**With the exception of large agenda items noted as large on the agenda.  Hard copies of those exhibits are available for review at the District Office and the O'Hara Park Middle School Library.

Change in election system

A change in how board members for the Oakley Union Elementary School District are elected is being considered. This change would affect the way residents of the district are represented on the school district's governing board for years to come. Under this new election system, the district would be divided into five geographic areas, and one board member living in each area would be elected by the voters who live in that area.

To learn about these changes and to express your opinion, you are invited to attend a public hearing at 6 p.m. May 15, 2019 at the O'Hara Park Middle School Library, 1100 O'Hara Avenue, Oakley, CA 94561.

Community Forum

Members of the Oakley Union Elementary School District (“OUESD”) community are invited to attend two (2) Community Forums being hosted by OUESD to receive feedback on options for voting areas being established as OUESD transitions from a school board elected at-large to one elected by area.

The Community Forums will be held on the evenings of Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at O’Hara Park School and Wednesday May 29, 2019 at Oakley Elementary School.  Members of the community will have a chance to learn more about the process as well as review the three scenarios currently under consideration. The demographer who prepared the maps will be available to answer questions and take suggestions for potential revisions to the scenarios.

OUESD currently has an "at-large" election system where voters of the entire school district elect all members of the School Board. A “by-area” election system will carve OUESD’s area of service into "by-trustee areas." Voters in each "by-trustee area" will choose their School Board representative, who must also live in that voting area.

Please joins us at the following locations and times:

Community Forum #1 from 5:30 – 6:30 PM in the Library of O’Hara Park School.

1100 O’Hara Avenue, Oakley, CA 94561

Community Forum #2 from 5:00 – 6:00 in the Library of Oakley Elementary School.

501 Norcross Lane, Oakley, CA 94561
